Complex Dental Restorations

Procedures that are done for the replacement of most of the teeth in the upper or lower jaw are known as Complex Dental Restorations. They are performed by a prosthodontist and involves replacement of the teeth using a combinations of crowns, bridges and dental implants.

Ideal Candidate for Complex Teeth Restorations

A person who as worn down teeth due to the following reasons is an ideal candidate for complex teeth restorations

  • Chemical Erosion
  • GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
  • Clenching or teeth grinding referred to as bruxism.

Procedure

The process involves initial evaluation by our prosthodontist by creating a diagnostic model of the mouth. This model is used to decide the line of treatment that would be used. Temporary restorations such as crowns or bridges may be provided until the final product is ready to be installed.
Though complex dental restorations take time to be developed and installed, the end results are quite satisfactory. It helps patients regain a confident, aesthetic smile along with functional restoration of chewing and speaking abilities.
